The Need for Relaxation

I have always been a very social and gregarious person. I not only loved communicating with others, but I was very effective in doing it. However, over the last few months, due to the dominance of college apps and other senior year things, I was unable to place emphasis on this aspect of my life. It was often more for relaxational purposes anyway, so I didn’t give it much thought.
Thankfully, this weekend, I got more free time. I was able to take a break from all the work I had been doing and all the academic things that had consumed my life. In one day of being with my friends and doing other things I enjoy, I noticed a shift in my mood, and the next day when I went back to my delineated schedule, my productivity was much higher.
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” This quote finally had relevance to my life. I realized then that there had been a shift in my mood and personality due to a lack of these things. My mindset had changed subconsciously, but giving myself a break proved to be a big help in my life.
