The Start of Something New

So far, I am in my second month of college here at the University of Houston, and I decided that continuing my ISM blogging practices is a good way to reflect on my own development and to note down the changes I experience through my time in college.

College has been something very strange, but somewhat likable. It's provided me with a unique change of pace that has helped me not only build my character but develop habits that have allowed me to better adapt to an independent lifestyle. Coming into college, I have been able to perform many tasks and develop skills that I was unable to in high school. Now, I am waking up every morning at 6:00 am to workout for 1-1.5 hours, I have been finishing my homework far ahead of time, eliminating my previous habit of procrastination, and I also have been able to study far in advance for test, diminishing the last-minute cramming that was too habitual last year.

It's incredible to think that so many of my habits have changed, and despite much self reflection, I have been unable to distinguish the reason for it. It may be that I many new positive influences around me that make me subconsciously want to achieve more, or it may be due to the new sense of independence that is making me want to accomplish more. Regardless of the reason, I'm glad that I have been able to change in a positive way to start off my time in college.
