The Comfort of Acceptance

This last week, I was able to finally decide on what college I will be attending next fall. My decision had been constantly pending for the last month because I had not received the admission decision from the 3/4ths Program at UH. While all my friends were accepting their decisions and committing to attend wonderful universities, I had begun to grow increasingly restless. But finally, I learned last week that I have been accepted into this program, and am proud to say I will be attending the University of Houston this upcoming fall.
The program I am part of is known as the 3/4ths program, because through this, I will be getting my Bachelors degree in three years, after which I will be automatically accepted to either the University of Texas Medical School or the University of Texas Medical Branch to receive my M.D.. To get this far, I had to first apply to UH, then apply to the Honors College in UH, following which I had to apply for the Honors Biomedical Sciences major, which only allows around 40 students to be selected, and then I can apply for the 3/4ths program. The 3/4 Program is a accelerated BS/MD program within the Honors Biomedical Sciences major. After applying, I entered a vigorous interview process where only 10 applicants are selected. I am truly honored to be part of such a prestigious program and I look forward to my coming years at UH.
Go Coogs!
