Final Presentation Night is only one week away. Though this may seem daunting to most, I find this sentence quite exciting. To think that I will get to speak to people, who are enthusiastic about my work, regarding everything this ISM year has been about, the countless hours I’ve spent working on research, and the all professionals I’ve been able to interact with as a result, is truly a blessing in disguise. It is phenomenal to think that all these people are coming out to watch my presentation, taking time out of their busy lives to hear me speak: it’s truly inspiring. It is my goal for this night to show Mr. Wysong that I am the leader he envisioned me to be, to show my parents that I have taken the first steps to becoming an oncologist, and to show everyone in the audience what a life-changing program ISM is.
In preparation for FPN, ISM students have all been working their hardest, while maintaining a balance between ISM work and AP exams. Finishing up final products, working on speeches, and fixing up presentations. These two weeks are the final ones for this ISM year. Everything is finally coming to an end and it is almost bittersweet to think about. All the hardships and struggles we endured for a year boils down to this. May 19th, will finally be the day the ISM journey ends. However, the lessons learned and the knowledge gained will endure far beyond that.
